ARHGAPs

Definition: Protein family of Rho GTPase-activating protein. GTPase-activating proteins (ARHGAPs), such as ARHGAP23, inactivate RHO family proteins (RHOs) by stimulating their hydrolysis of GTP.

The RHO family of small GTPases (RHOs), as RHOA (MIM.165390), are involved in signal transduction through transmembrane receptors, and they are inactive in the GDP-bound form and active in the GTP-bound form.
